It’s a short post today on my return to the Blue Mountains…
I didn’t have any particular plans last Sunday, but my friend Amy wanted to see the Blue Mountains one last time before she left Sydney. Instead of going to Katoomba, we decided to go even further into the hills and alight at Mount Victoria. This town is heritage listed and is located at the highest point in the Blue Mountains.
We decided to take a walk to a nearby viewpoint called Pulpit Rock. Unfortunately it was a bit misty and mizzly, but I suppose this did make the photos more dramatic. I also enjoyed the novelty of wearing warm clothing, though I’m not sure how long this will continue to feel like a novelty..!
After our photo stop we were still feeling pretty energetic. We decided to venture further down the valley in search of Bushrangers Cave. Unfortunately there wasn’t much of a cave to be seen, but I enjoyed the exercise and built up a good appetite. Thanks to Amy for these photos from the walk:
We finished off our trip with milkshakes and a huge brunch in Katoomba before heading home. Whilst I recommend that a first-time trip here should be made in sunnier weather, it was great to get a totally different experience of the Blue Mountains… Just don’t forget your mac!
